Shingler Homes new Showhome at Boreatton Fields is themed around being environmentally conscious and includes sustainable materials and products. It incorporates elements of upcycling, recycled fabrics, and eco-friendly features. Our Interior Designer, Stanza Style, sourced each product with this brief in mind, to ensure that the Showhome was as sustainable as possible. Read on to discover the products in each room:
Shingler homes are proud to include a range of energy efficient features across all their Boreatton Fields homes, such as an Air Source Heat Pump, solar panels, underfloor heating to ground floor and electric car chargers included as standard.
Lounge:
Curtains made from 100% recycled cotton.
Sofa & Armchair made from eco-velvet 100% recycled polyester pile.
Woven throw – made from 100% recycled plastic bottles Recycled plastic can reduce waste going to landfill and help conserve crude oil reserves. Recycled plastic reduces the carbon footprint associated with the manufacturing phase when compared with virgin plastic.
Natural Jute Rug and Jute Pouffe- Jute fibre is 100% bio-degradable and recyclable and thus environmentally friendly. A hectare of jute plants consumes about 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide and releases 11 tonnes of oxygen. Cultivating jute in crop rotations enriches the fertility of the soil for the next crop.

Wine glasses from NKUKU hammered recycled glass Recycled glass can reduce waste going to landfill and help the movement towards a more circular economy. Using recycled glass saves energy during the production stage when compared with virgin glass.

Use of sustainable/eco-friendly bedding
Rattan dressing stool – Rattan can be fully grown and harvested within two years, compared to some hardwoods which take up to 20-30 years. Therefore, rattan is a completely sustainable product that is environmentally friendly.

Throw -Tartan Company – recycled wool blanket saves an average of six garments from landfill. They call this turning pre-loved into re-loved. Woven with their partner mill in India and made from 70% recycled wool and 30% recycled fibres, it’s a blanket that’s as good for the planet as it is for you.
