Congratulations to our Architectural Technician Molly Dalton on achieving a First in her Architectural Technology University degree!

Molly joined Shingler Group in June 2023, with six years’ experience in the construction industry. Initially unsure of what career path to take, Molly worked in various industries such as Lloyds Bank as a Cashier and an Air hostess for Monarch Air Lines before a gap year backpacking around multiple countries.

Upon returning from travelling, Molly decided to enter the Construction industry and started her degree at Birmingham City University whilst at her previous employer. She worked alongside a day release at university throughout her five-year degree, which although challenging at times, aided her progress as she could learn on the job whilst gaining knowledge and support from her peers.

Previously focusing solely on new builds, Molly enjoys the variety of projects she has worked on so far at Shingler Group, including renovating listed properties, barn and agricultural building conversions, contemporary projects and care facilities.

Her day-to-day role working alongside our Architect and Landscape Architect Adam Turnell consists of producing working drawings for our new build homes, liaising with Building Control Inspectors, discharging planning conditions, providing solutions to site queries and working with every department from Construction to Sales.

Molly thoroughly enjoyed her time at Birmingham City University and was grateful to receive such fantastic support from her lecturers. Shingler Group are thrilled with Molly’s First result and overall enthusiasm for her job role, and know she is going to achieve great things in the future.
