Boreatton Fields is located in the thriving village of Baschurch, which has a range of amenities including primary school, secondary school, GP surgery, shop, post office, restaurant, public houses and local play / leisure facilities.
The next phase of the development will feature 48 properties, with a mix of 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom homes.
Boreatton Fields (Phase 3) will bring significant benefits to the local community, such as:
Economic objective
The provision of a railway carpark is a major step in enabling the railway station to be reopened. In time, this would dramatically improve the connectivity of the village to the rest of the county and beyond, as well as providing green, sustainable transport and reducing the dependence on motor vehicles.
Social objective
The development will help deliver vital social benefits and address the housing requirement for present and future generations. These include 21% affordable housing, expansive green communal space, improved pedestrian connectivity and a range of house types which are compliant with emerging policy, including 2 wheelchair accessible dwellings. 50% of the affordable housing will be shared ownership or discounted market sale, providing local opportunities to purchase low-cost housing.
Environmental objective
Utilising a landlocked, infill site adjacent to previous brownfield land is an effective use of the site and preserves open countryside. Proposals to recommission the railway station would contribute to green transport infrastructure and the finished development would include expansive open space and newly planted trees.
A specific emphasis will be placed on green infrastructure by installing a greater number of bat and birdboxes, wildflower planting, hedgehog highways and the retention of mature trees, hedgerows, and priority habitats.
