Shingler Group welcomed four new construction apprentices and one office trainee this September.

Harley, Kyle, Ocean, and Harry

Harley, Kyle, Ocean, and Harry have started their first year of Shingler Construction’s Apprenticeship Programme, where they will experience different sectors of the construction trade, including:

  • Plumbing and Electrics
  • Customer Service and Aftercare
  • Bricklaying
  • Carpentry
  • Groundworks

Once they have completed their first year, the apprentices will decide on their trade and formal college training at Shrewsbury College’s London Road Campus will begin. They will attend college one day per week and spend the rest of the time working on site alongside our trade professionals.

At the end of their four-year Apprenticeship, they will become a fully qualified member of our site team, working on exciting construction projects throughout Shropshire. Opportunities for further progression include site team leaders, supervisors, managers, and contracts managers as well as various technical construction back-office roles.

Charlie

Charlie has started work our Head Office in Myddle on our trainee programme. After completing his A levels, Charlie decided he wanted to pursue a career in construction but wasn’t sure which direction he wanted to go in. Shingler Group offers a structured programme where trainees can work with different members of the team throughout the office, experiencing all aspects of the business. Including:

  • Construction
  • Commercial
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Quality Control and Aftercare
  • Design and Planning
  • Finance

Alongside this, Charlie will also go to Shrewsbury College’s London Road Campus to study towards a HNC in Construction and the Built Environment.Charlie is excited to join the family business and is looking forward to experiencing all aspects of what we do at Shingler Group.
